Protivate is a fun, addictive mini-game for the iPhone that lets you flex your creativity muscles. Compete with other players in real time to create the funniest and most original motivational poster!

It’s simple: A random photo pops up. You think of a witty caption in the style of one of those motivational posters hanging in your sales manager’s office. Then you vote, and the highest-scoring entry wins!

Beat out your competitors, show off your winning entries, and be a poster pro-star! It just might help you get that raise you’ve been looking for...but probably not.

How to Play

Each round of Protivate has two stages: submitting and voting.

During the submitting stage, you have a few minutes to come up with a title and "motivational" message for the provided image. There must be at least five total submissions entered to play.

Once the submissions are in, you must vote on other people’s submissions. No, you can’t vote on your own. If you don’t vote, your submission won't count in the final tally and it will show up as "disqualified."

The poster who receives the most votes wins, unless there is more than a two-way tie. Pretty simple, huh?

The game includes a chat function where players can congratulate, console or trash-talk their opponents. But play nice: Those might be your friends in there.

Tips and Tricks

Brevity is the soul of wit. Try to be as concise as possible. If you have trouble fitting your idea into 70 characters, consider abandoning it and thinking of another idea. If your joke is too good to let go, remember that there is (almost) always a way to reword it and make it fit.
